Ralph and Terra at Winona, MN when she won the Open and completed her FC title. Ralph trained Terra except for the winter, when she went with Jim Kappes to Texas.
Terra was a derby dog in late 1979 and 1980. She competed at period in time when the derby stake was very large, several trials had entries over 90. She ended her derby career with 9 points and numerous jams.
Terra was out of a breeding of FC-AFC Air Express to Penrod's Niger (a daughter of FC-AFC Carr-Lab Penrod). Penrod was a full brother to NFC-2xNAFC Super Chief and was similar in appearance to his brother. Air Express, a Super Chief son, sired a Dual-Champ, and many other titled dogs.
