Shennanigans III

Shanny

She is from of a litter bred in 1983 and is out of Toby and a granddaughter of CH Gunfield's Super Charger. Shanny placed or received a JAM (Judges Award of Merit) in every puppy stake in which she was entered. She went on to win the hunters stake and then traveled around Minnesota entering informal trials, seldom returning home without a ribbon. She was retired from trials when she reached the Qualifying level because of epilepsy. Shanny was a hunting dog until about 1993 and was 14 in May 1997. She spent several fall hunting seasons in South Dakota and Montana in search of the wily ringneck. In South Dakota she was used for guiding corporate hunts where she would have 30-40 birds shot over her per day. Old age and graying changed her appearance, but prior to her death she was still as enthusiastic about retrieving as she was as a young dog.

Shanny had one litter prior to the time she started having siezures. She was bred to AFC Westwind's Pedro. They were some very nice puppies, one male was entered in informal trials and placed or jammed everytime he was entered. When the Epilepsy symptoms started she was spayed and her career turned to a house dog and gundog.
